HISTORY
Established in 1962 to foster, encourage and acknowledge the efforts of amateur drama groups in rural Ireland, the West Clare Drama Festival in Doonbeg continues to grow from strength to strength to becoming the 10 night festival it is today.
Full length plays by Irish and international writers are performed by amateur groups from all around the country, as well as local groups, who are seeking nomination to the Open and Confined All-Ireland Finals.
The West Clare Drama Festival has become a constant feature of the social and festival calendar of the locality with strong audience attendance each night.
